Founded in 2006 as a project of Lancaster Prospers, the Lancaster County economic development collaborative, the mission of the South Central Pennsylvania Center of Excellence in Packaging Operations is to assure that the packaging industry and its users in the region are competitive in the global marketplace and that its workforce has the skills to use the rapidly advancing technology that drives its growth.
A partner of the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute, the Center has been a national leader in enhancing supply chains, in training the incumbent workforce in new technology, and in articulating career paths for individuals interested in the variety of occupations that comprise its workforce.
